Popular Cross Stitch Patterns for Christmas

Cross stitching is a very enjoyable hobby as well as being a most relaxing pastime. The range of items that can be cross stitched is endless from tablecloths to pictures, coasters to key rings and particularly at this time of the year Christmas Cards and decorations.

There is a huge choice of cross stitch kits available and these make excellent presents for your nearest and dearest. A keen Formula One fan would be most impressed with the caricature of the McClaren/Hamilton F1 car - what a great idea for an Xmas gift. The younger members of the clan would really enjoy receiving the cross stitched caricature of either a goldfish or a gorgeous Westie, complete with tartan outfit, to hang in their bedroom, whilst admirers of the wild west will really appreciate the Horse and Cowboy Kit. Animal lovers of all ages would fall in love with the cross stitched Daschund Dog - what a gorgeous present. Those of us who enjoyed the Swinging Sixties would be most impressed with a Mini Cooper or a Harley Davidson! Would you believe you can even cross stitch a picture of Del Boy`s famous Reliant Robin. Fans of all modes of transport will be delighted to receive a cross stitched picture of an Eddie Stobart Lorry. There is an excellent kit available called "Field of Poppies" and this would make a splendid addition to a collection of cross stitched flower pictures.

There are decorative wall hanging cross stitch kits available illustrating either Santa Claus, Rudolph the famous red nosed reindeer, a Snowman, traditional holly and ivy, or nativity scenes. Cushions stitched with equally Christmassy themes and scattered around your home will also look extremely seasonal and cheery. Coasters stitched with holly or mistletoe or other Christmas scenes will look very inviting and an ideal spot to place that glass of mulled wine!

Of course, a cross stitched Christmas tablecloth with matching napkins will be a marvellous centre piece on Christmas Day -what a gorgeous present but remember pieces like this take some considerable time to complete but all your hardwork will be worth it when you see the look of appreciation on the recipient`s face.

Your friends and family will really appreciate the thought and work you have put into presenting them with a cross stitched gift which will become one of their most treasured possessions. Small children will really enjoy helping to decorate the Christmas Tree with cross stitched baubles and watching Mum hang the seasonally decorative wall hangings whilst sitting comfortably on a Santa Claus cross stitched cushion. These same small children will one day help children of their own hang the same cherished cross stitched baubles on their tree - your Christmas cross stitching pieces have in fact become family heirlooms and will hopefully be enjoyed by future generations.
